Winter weather presents multiple challenges for plant operations

With campus power outages, low water pressures, depletion of water, and leaks brought on by snow load, plant ops have been incredibly busy for the past week. They connected a water truck to a holding tank in the penthouse to help supply water to our toilets, sinks and showers while the water was out. They also had to bring in portable toilets. The good news is that water service has been restored and the boil water notice has been rescinded.

To meet the challenges brought on by snow, ice and extremely low temperatures, plant ops staff, like many other departments, stayed at the hospital 24/7 during the cold weather crisis. Now that the snow and ice has melted, they will be busy making all manner of necessary repairs. We thank them for their continued efforts!
