Livingston Peacemakers Quilt Guild knits red hats for Valentine babies
Livingston Peacemakers Quilt Guild celebrated American Heart Month this month by knitting and crocheting red hats for the babies in the nursery as a part of the American Heart Association’s Little Hats, Big Hearts project. The pop of red is meant to help raise awareness for congenital heart defects. Our local yarn store, Yarnia, collected 200 hats that the 55 members of the Livingston Peacemakers Quilt Guild made and Bitsy Barr delivered them to Nacogdoches Memorial for Heart Month. Some of the first babies to receive the hats included Levi Hernandez-Gonzalez (held by Brandy Lawrence), Luz Gonzalez (held by Noel Dominy) and Xavier Lopez (held by Chasity Rook).
