Volunteer retires after 30 years with x-ray

The medical imaging department didn’t want to let her go, but after more than 30 years, imaging volunteer Carol Kuhrt felt like it was time to retire.

“Mrs. Carol has kept radiology running for many years and she’s been through a lot of changes,” said Dachiele Keeling, medical imaging director. “Not only has she helped patients to their exam rooms and kept our rooms stocked with linen, but back in the day before everything in imaging was digital, she actually developed films for our technologists!”

It was thanks to Mrs. Carol and the Nacogdoches Memorial Auxiliary that the imaging department got a much-needed blanket warmer a few years back to supply our patients with warm blankets in our cold areas. Mrs. Carol also saw to it that the children of imaging staff all had different age-appropriate Bibles as they grew up over the years.

“She has been a blessing to all of us through the years and we will definitely miss her daily presence,” said Dachiele. “She has been a bright light and a blessing in our radiology family for over 30 years!”
